Dr. Alan Lucas is a Hattiesburg native and received his BS degree in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1985. He continued his education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry graduating in 1989 with his DMD degree, and then completed an extra year in a General Practice Residency program at UMMC.
After moving back to his hometown, he and his wife Melinda started their private practice in “downtown” Oak Grove. In 2001 they moved into their current location on Highway 98 West. He is active in the Oak Grove UMC choir, Sigma Chi Fraternity Alumni, USM Alumni, and Boy Scouts. His hobbies include attending USM sporting events, hunting and fishing. He is the proud parent of two daughters, Meredith and Elizabeth who both aspire to go into the field of dentistry. Dr. Lucas is the past president of the local Dental study club and serves on several committees for the Mississippi Dental Association. He is a Member of the ACD, AGD, SMDS, ADA,MDA and enjoys volunteering for the Honduran Medical/Dental Mission each summer.
Dr. Melinda Gray Lucas is a native of Brooksville Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University in Biology education. She graduated from the University Of Mississippi Medical Center School Of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency afterwards.
She and her husband Alan have been residents of the Oak Grove area since 1990 when they first opened their Dental office. They have two daughters, Meredith and Elizabeth. Melinda has been a Sunday School teacher for 20 years at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoys walking, cooking, tennis and her pets.
Dr. Lucas is involved in a number of professional organizations such as the ADA, MDA, South MS Dental Society, American College of Dentists, Academy of General Dentists and MAWD. She has served as President of District III Mississippi Dental Association, President of University of Mississippi Medical Center Dental Alumni, and also on the MDA Chair of Communications Board. She has also been on several mission trips to Honduras and volunteered her time with Missions of Mercy in Mississippi which helps treat people with free, quality dental care.
Dr. Zachariah Lea Crawford is a native of Hattiesburg, MS. He graduated from Oak Grove High School and then graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Biology. He went on to pursue his dental career by attending University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry where he completed an Advanced General Dentistry residency afterwards. He is a member of the ADA, MDA, and currently serves as Secretary for the SMDS.
Zach enjoyed playing high school, select and college soccer. He now loves spending time with family and friends. His hobbies are fishing, coaching soccer, and mountain biking. Dr. Crawford is also a member of Parkway Heights United Methodist Church and donates his time and resources to programs such as Donated Dental and the Edward’s Street Missions programs that helps meet the dental needs of patients in this area.
